Lacey Lingelbach is a recent College of Agricultural and Life Science graduate from the University of Florida with a degree in environmental science and two minors in economics and public leadership. She is from a small, rural town in South Florida and has lived in Florida all her life. She became interested in
environmental policy after learning and speaking out about the toxic algal blooms affecting her hometown in South Florida. She loves to go explore Florida’s beautiful and unique natural areas. She wants to work in government and prepare local communities for current and existing climate change threats. Before entering a career in environmental policy, she is attending graduate school at Indiana University Bloomington in the Fall of this year to obtain a Masters of Public Affairs degree specializing in environmental policy and community development.
During her time as an undergraduate, Lacey’s coursework and internships have focused on environmental management at the local level. Through a fellowship with the Bob Graham Center for Public Service and the Florida Climate Institute, she has been researching climate change impacts in rural Florida and the challenges of addressing them in these communities.. Through her research, she has created recommendations for various stakeholders to increase rural climate resiliency. Lacey is excited about the opportunity to present her findings that are applicable at a large scale, and network with leaders in agriculture throughout the country.
