Speaker Bio
My name is Ms. Janeva Williams. I am a Graduate Research Assistant pursuing my M.S. degree in agricultural and environmental systems with Dr. Arnab Bhowmik as my major advisor in the area of biological soil health management at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T). My current Master’s research is focused on how cover crop and manure application impact biological soil health indicators and greenhouse gas emissions. The overall goal of my work is to identify and help minimize tradeoffs associated with adopting soil health management practices. I have received my B.S. in Sustainable Land Management from NC A&T in 2020. During my undergraduate career, I became a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society and joined our prestigious MANRRS program which stands for minorities in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences. I was also selected for a summer internship at the Soil Health Institute (SHI), where I worked with Dr. Christine Morgan, assisting with data analytics and interpretation for the North American Project to evaluate soil health measurements. I am also a current member of the Soil Science Society of America, the Crop Science Society of America, and the American Society of Agronomy.
