Ron Sands joined USDA’s Economic Research Service in January 2009 as a research economist. Ron's primary activity is developing a global economic simulation model of agricultural and energy systems to 2050 and beyond. Prior to joining ERS, Ron had nearly 22 years of service with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Ron earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in economics, both from the University of Minnesota.
