Mary Clare Ahearn, Ph.D, is a Fellow at the National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy and a Consulting Senior Agricultural Economist. She spent 36 years at the Economic Research Service, USDA, working in a variety of researcher and research management positions. She made significant contributions to the development of the the current USDA system of financial performance indicators for agriculture, including the development and analysis of the farm household level data bases.
