Tanimura & Antle (T&A) has been growing and distributing fresh produce since 1982. T&A farms over 40,000 acres a year to produce a full line of premium produce throughout North America, Europe & Asia. Tanimura & Antle employs over 7,000 employees a year, and provides them a competitive wage; company ownership under an ESOP; a 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions up to 4% o wages; and medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits – all well before The Affordable Care Act was enacted. Carmen Ponce joined Tanimura & Antle in 1996 initially serving as its Deputy General Counsel, then its Vice President of Human Resources and Assistant General Counsel, and finally as it Vice President and General Counsel of Labor. Carmen got her law and master’s degrees from Georgetown School of Law and Georgetown University. Carmen has been involved with T&A’s H-2A Program since 2006.
