Speaker Bio

Ryanna Tietje is currently a senior at The Ohio State University, where she is majoring in Agribusiness and Applied Economics and minoring in Consumer and Family Financial Services. She was raised on her family’s grain farm in northwest Ohio and that experience, along with her involvement in 4-H and FFA, sparked her passion for agriculture. Through internship experiences in agricultural lending, grain risk management, and financial planning, she has seen the importance of farm succession planning to ensure successful transitions of operations from one generation to the next; therefore, Ryanna is eager to focus on this area through her research and future career.

During her time at The Ohio State University, she has enjoyed serving as the President of the OSU Agribusiness Club, Vice President of Alpha Zeta Partners, Reporter of the Agriculture Systems Management Club, an active member in Collegiate Farm Bureau, and a Peer Mentor for the Honors Program. In addition, she serves on the Advisory Council for The Ohio State University Farm Financial Management and Policy Institute. She has participated in conferences across the country to learn about diverse areas within the industry and build upon knowledge gained in the classroom. Some of these include the Women in Agribusiness Summit, AgGateway Conference, Agriculture Future of America Leaders Conference, FFA New Century Farmer Conference, Charles Schwab IMPACT Conference, Agricultural & Applied Economics Association Annual Meeting, and the Farm Credit Mid-America Scholars Program.

Ryanna is thankful for the many experiences and mentors that have helped nurture her growth both personally and professionally, and she is excited to begin her career in the industry upon graduation in May 2024.
