Mark Stoutemyer is currently the Hawaii Research Lead for Corteva Agriscience on Kauai. He has worked for Corteva since 2006 with roles in Shade House production, Operations and Site Lead for the Kunia Research Center on Oahu. He previously worked at the Hawaii Agricultural Research Center, Garst Seed Company, Indiana University and at the University of Hawaii in Plant Pathology, Molecular Biology and Plant Tissue Culture.

Mark was born and raised on Oahu and has worked for over 25 years in the seed industry and in agriculture both in Hawaii and on the mainland United States. Mark holds a B.S. degree in Horticulture/Business from Colorado State University and an M.S. in Plant Breeding from U.C Davis. He served as the Past president for the Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawaii and is a graduate of the Hawaii Agricultural leadership program.

Mark has a passion to build food sustainability and agriculture across the State. He is actively involved in supporting Hawaii’s agriculture through serving on multiple boards, agriculture business consulting, and involvement in community building initiatives.

When not at work, Mark enjoys surfing, growing orchids and gardening. He also loves fishing, hiking, and camping with his family.
