Alayna Gerhardt is from Mendon, IL and is a graduate research assistant at Oklahoma State University, working on a Ph.D. in Animal and Food Sciences. Her academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in both animal and plant sciences. Her love for both disciplines led to her master's thesis work in forage quality and production. Building upon this foundation, Alayna continued her education with a Ph.D. focused on implementing virtual fencing technology within production systems to protect riparian areas.
Her interest in livestock and forage management and production showcases her passion for both facets of agricultural science. Alayna’s expertise in the integration of innovative technology aims to revolutionize livestock management for improved efficiency and sustainability.
Looking ahead, Alayna plans to use her expertise and passion as a livestock technology consultant, using advanced technologies and practical implementation in livestock production systems. She hopes to use technology to optimize livestock production, enhance animal welfare, and streamline management practices.
