Kirsten Nickels is a graduate research associate with The Ohio State University in beef cattle nutrition. She previously graduated with an M.S. in Animal Sciences in 2019 from Ohio State and will be graduating with her Ph.D. in Animal Sciences in May of 2022. Her doctorate research interests have been centered around environmental change in the Midwest United States and the effects these changes have on the beef cow herd, as well as the sustainability of the farm system. Nickels has had an extensive background with production livestock from a young age. She is motivated to produce impactful research with outcomes that will help beef producers nationwide and advocate for the livestock industry.
