Kantilata Thapa is from Nepal and is currently a graduate student at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln in the Biosystems Engineering department. She is interested in sustainable agriculture, climate change, high throughput plant phenotyping, and resilient agriculture production. She is currently conducting research related to high throughput plant phenotyping using imaging techniques and image analysis algorithms. She likes working with people from diverse backgrounds and learning from different perspectives, towards a common goal of sustainable and resilient agriculture production. She completed her undergraduate degree from Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) in Nepal. After graduation, she served the rural communities of Nepal, working on food security, disaster management, and natural resource conservation. In a short period of time, she got to the in-depth hardship faced by people due to climate extreme events. She is an outgoing, open-minded individual who likes to work with national and international communities, presenting ideas and perspectives that can bring change. She sees hope in small things and always thrives in identifying possibilities.

Kantilata is looking for an internship. She will be pursuing further education before seeking full-time employment.
