Mark Scholl serves as President of J and M Scholl, Inc., a family agriculture holding company. An Agriculture Economics Major at the University of Illinois, his postgraduate work included agricultural policy. For seven years, Mark worked in the banking industry, servicing agricultural and commercial lending accounts.
Mark's interest in the commercialization of value-added grains developed while an equity partner of a regional seed company. This led to work with ICI, British Petroleum, and ultimately co-founding ExSeed Genetics. ExSeed was later sold to BASF, where he served as Director of BASF Plant Science.
He and his family also own and operate a family holding company that includes a 4,000 acre farming operation, an export grain business, participant in wind farm, agriculture consulting business, and real estate holdings.
Mark has served on the Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Farm Foundation Boards. While with the Farm Foundation, he was the Board of Trustees Chairman. In addition, he served as Treasurer and Board Member of the North Carolina Biofuels Board. Presently, he is Chair of the JJK FAN Executive Committee.
In the past, Mark also served as a member of the USDA - G.I.P.S.A. Advisory Board, Republican National Committee Small Business Advisory Board, Governor's Biotech Advisory Board in Iowa, and the Business Council of BASF Plant Science in Germany.
Mark was named the 2010 Award of Merit Alumni from the University Illinois.
Mark and his wife Jackie presently reside in Fishers, Indiana.
