Dr. R. Andres Ferreyra works as Data Asset Manager for Syngenta’s Global Digital Agriculture team. His responsibilities in Syngenta have included leading development of Syngenta’s global machine data integration platform, IoT data platform, analytics platform, and the semantic infrastructure that supports them; and most recently, a grower-platform-wide architecture role. Dr Ferreyra is active in the international agricultural standards space: he has led the AgGateway Precision Agriculture Council, its Standards & Guidelines Committee, and its Agrisemantics Working Group. He is a contributor to AgGateway's Laboratory Data Standardization Group, which includes soils data in its scope. He is a contributor to ASABE standards X-611 and S-632, which involve different forms of field operations data. He is a co-convener, representing ANSI, of the ISO Strategic Advisory Group on Smart Farming, leading over 200 international experts in developing a roadmap to guide standards development to enable Smart Farming and its contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These mandates include seeking to make the field operations data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) within the context of a Data Ethical process.
