Ike is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Urban Forestry at Southern University and A&M College – Baton Rouge Campus, within the Department of Urban Forestry, Environment, and Natural Resources. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography with a minor in Caribbean and Tourism Studies from the University of Guyana, as well as a Master's degree in Natural Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change (Universidad X el Sabio - Spain). His doctoral research is centered on exploring the potential of Sargassum seaweed as a soil amendment.

Before beginning his doctoral studies, Ike worked as a geography and environmental science teacher, where he consistently emphasized the importance of environmental protection, conservation, and sustainability.

Driven by a deep and ongoing passion for agriculture, sustainability, and food security, Ike aspires to become a leading environmental advocate for farmers. His long-term goals include equipping agricultural communities with science-based tools, conducting inclusive and accessible research on sustainable farming techniques, and ultimately enhancing the quality and resilience of agricultural production.
