Assistant Professor Dr. Kevin N. Kim is a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Mississippi State University. He joined MSU in 2021 after completing his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at The Ohio State University and obtaining a B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Kim's research encompasses various agricultural financial topics, including farm financial distress, changes in the agricultural lending market, and the access to capital for minority farmers. His recent works specifically address the challenges faced by African American farmers in relation to government programs. In addition to his research efforts, Dr. Kim actively participates in extension activities and teaching, dedicating substantial effort to enhancing the financial literacy of both students and local producers.
Dr. Kim serves as the chair-elect of the Agricultural Finance Management (AFM) Section of the AAEA and is a member of the Delta Region Farm Management and Agricultural Policy Working Group.
