Join us on September 27, 2024, for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Policy Summit on the Future of Bioplastics. During this all-day in-person only event, USDA will host panel discussions, keynote speeches, rapid-fire talks, and interactive sessions focused on the following:

•    What specifically are federal agencies doing to support bioplastics, and what more needs to be done?
•    How can the bioplastics sector scale production and lower costs? How can the federal government help?
•    How can supporters of bioplastics address the concerns of critics?
•    What role can bioplastics serve in the UN Treaty to Reduce Plastic Waste? 

Key stakeholders from the private sector, NGOs, and federal government are invited to join this event to build and share knowledge on the challenges and opportunities for bioplastics, discuss barriers to scaling and adoption, and the roles U.S. government can play in strengthening the bioeconomy to propel U.S. producers toward climate-smart growth. Whether you are a bioplastics industry professional, a producer or brand interested in or already using bioplastics, or involved in waste reduction, recycling, or composting activities, this event is for you!  We look forward to seeing you there!
 

The policy summit will take place at the Whitten Patio located inside the USDA building. 

Directions to the USDA Whitten Building: The Whitten Building is located directly across Independence Avenue from the USDA South Building. The Whitten Building is located between 12th and 14th Streets, and Independence Avenue and Jefferson Drive. All Summit participants are required to enter through the Jefferson Drive entrance to the building. This is the entrance facing the National mall. Please have a driver’s license or government issued photo ID to present to building security. The nearest Metro station is “Smithsonian,” which has two exits. The exit nearest the Whitten Building is located on the National Mall at the corner of 12th and Jefferson Street. The second exit located at the Northeast corner of the USDA South Building, at the corner of 12th and Independence Street.
