John Hebert is a special policy advisor in the Office of the Administrator for the Rural Business Cooperative Service at USDA. Prior to his current role, John was a senior policy advisor for transportation at Third Way, a national think tank. His work at Third Way centered on developing and advocating for policies to help the US decarbonize the transportation sector, with a particular focus on alternative fuels and the intersection of climate policy and economic growth in rural America. Before joining Third Way, John also spent several years working in a variety of government affairs roles within the railroad industry. John holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia and an M.A. in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University.
