Drew Slattery is the Human Dimensions of Change Lead for Farm Journal’s Trust In Food. He specializes in applying human dimensions theory to drive behavior change to empower agricultural producers in the U.S. to continuously improve their operations’ environmental, financial and social outcomes. His portfolio overlaps the research, strategy and activation practices of Trust In Food.

Before joining Trust In Food in 2018, Drew served as communications manager for Washington, D.C.,-based Global Environment and Technology Foundation (GETF), an international NGO focused on providing water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) access as well as women’s empowerment programming supported by public-private partnerships and corporate social responsibility investments. Prior to that, he served as an agricultural extension agent volunteer in the U.S. Peace Corps (Zambia) and as a behavior change communication consultant for U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded national media campaigns implemented by Chemonics.

Drew holds a master’s degree in international agriculture with an emphasis on technology adoption from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Tarleton State University in his home state of Texas. An alumnus of Alpha Gamma Rho, he was raised on an Angus cattle operation, served as president of the Texas Junior Angus Association, and remains active in beef cattle production today.
