Billy Hagstrom is CEO & Co-Founder of Bluestem Biosciences, a company producing sustainable chemicals from organisms not oil, leveraging existing infrastructure. A strong believer in the bioeconomy, Hagstrom saw the potential of synthetic biology and how it is inextricably linked to agriculture. Prior to Bluestem, Billy served as Executive Vice President of Strategy & Development for Green Plains, Inc. Prior to relocating to Omaha, Billy was CEO of Cannalysis. Previously, Billy was a Managing Director at Highbridge Capital Management. Billy started in investment banking at J.P. Morgan in Natural Resources & Infrastructure. Billy earned his BA in Economics from Northwestern University.
