Tour Details January 12

Centered around the Belle Glade, Florida, Everglades agricultural area, our tour will include farm visits to see planting and harvesting of in-season produce: lettuces, sweet corn, radishes, green beans, sod, and sugar cane grown on muck soil; lunch featuring Tellus products (compostable dinnerware made from sugarcane byproducts) and with presentations on Florida water quality issues; post-lunch tours of produce packing houses, coolers, and other exciting stops. Our final tour stop will be at the Palm Beach Polo Club in Wellington, Florida, where we will learn about the Florida equine industry and join with other Round Table Fellows for a dinner reception in recognition of our Honorary Life Fellows.

If you are not attending the Tour, but are planning to join the group Wednesday evening at the Polo Club, there will be a shuttle available for you. The shuttle departs from the Opal Grand Resort at 4:15 p.m. sharp.

To see a preview of one of the tour stops, watch the video below about TKM Bengard farms.

Our tour takes us through the heart of the Florida Everglades Agricultural Area. Whether you are able to join us or not, we hope that you enjoy this welcome message prepared for us by Commissioner Melissa McKinlay, Palm Beach County Commission, District 6.
